Updating...

I know I have been slacking with making regular posts. Truth is my computer went on strike and I just haven't taken the time to write like I should.

I had another rough weekend. I had a horrible migraine that I thought I would NEVER get rid of. Thank God for demerol! I called the doctor and he told me to go to labor and delivery at the hospital. It was quite humerous because when I walked up to the information booth at the hospital and was explaining to the lady what was going on she was looking at me like I was crazy. I finall turned to the side and informed her that I was pregnant. Then she looked at me and said, "Well honey I am bigger than you and I am not even pregnant." Then she told me to go on upstairs.

I got upstairs and told them what was going on and they took me to this nice little room for triage. My doctor just happened to be on the floor performing a C-section. He came in and ordered me a shot and fluids.

The IV ordeal... The nurse starts looking at my hands trying to find the best spot to put my IV. I told her that I was dehydrated and not to put it in my hands because my veins wouldn't hold it and they would collapse. What is it with people that are determined to prove you wrong? I guess because I had to tell them that the IV wouldn't work in my hand they thought it necessary to start there. A new nurse comes in and I tell her the same exact thing. She says don't worry honey that is why they come to get me. I usually can get the places others can't. She inserts the needle and tells the other nurse that it won't go any further. She pushes on it til it goes in and then starts to hook up the other part and poof the vein blows out.

Round two begins. She moves up a little. In the same hand. Right in the crease where my wrist bends. Cause that is going to be A LOT more comfortable than in my forearm. Same scenerio as above. She tries... vein blows. They both leave. Upon returning they have collected a new nurse that comes in. Takes one look at my hands and my arms and says, "You tried to put an IV in her hand?" That makes you feel really good. She takes my arm and inserts the IV right into a very nice vein in my forearm. Guess what it went in and it didn't hurt. Wow! If only these nice people would have listened to me in the first place.

Well needless to say... after all that I got meds and am now feeling much better. I am going to try my best to get a new picture of the baby bump on here this weekend. Hope you all have a wonderful day!
